A 214th Anniversary and Aaron Burr

214 years ago today Aaron Burr wounded Alexander Hamilton in a duel. Hamilton died the following day. Burr survived until 1836 when he passed away at the St. James Hotel, across and a few doors north on Port Richmond Avenue from our Old Dutch Church. Burr was there at the invitation of our Congregant Gozen Ryerss, the owner. Our minister, Rev. Peter Van Pelt was with Burr in his last moments.
